About Me

Hi hi cutie pies!

My name is Kelly and I live in the Netherlands, between dunes and flowers, together with my husband and cat. I've always been an old soul, but I'm afraid that now my age is starting to slowly catch up with that. Coming from a mixed European family with a rich history in French fashion, Dutch art and Italian aesthetics, I'm more than honored to keep this part of my heritage alive.

I've been a fashion stylist for years and this is actually what got me interested in embroidery. My sewing machine broke down and I was forced to sew by hand. I liked it better than sewing with a machine though and learned different techniques and stitches. While watching tutorials on YouTube, I came across a lot of embroidery stitches along the way. I got intrigued and decided to take a shot at it myself. The rest is history!

The illustrating part started out with sessions of oil and acrylic painting on canvas, together with my dad. I still enjoy painting very much so, but have added aquarelle and digital illustrating in watercolor style to my painting mediums. I actually prefer these latter two types of painting, as I feel like it's more delicate and feminine.

Embroidery and aquarelle (either traditional or digital) are my main interests on this blog, but I will also share my other creative outlets, like calligraphy and flower making. Consider it a personal portfolio, but also a place where I will take you with me on my journey to learn and grow together!
